Our Mission Statement

The Barnegat Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 will be turning 100 years old next year. That means we have been servicing our community for 100 years. That's a long time. We are a Community Service Oriented Fire Company with 35 square miles of residential, commercial and agricultural property to protect.

In 2006, we answered 412 calls and in 2007, 407 calls. Do the math, that's at least 1 call everyday. Not bad work for volunteers. Besides answering fire calls, our members are required to obtain certification and re-certification on various aspects of Fire and Rescue tactics as well as attend monthly training drills.

In 2007, our 1987 Pierce 50ft Snorkel turned 20 years old. This is a vital piece of equipment for us and it must be replaced. The town simply just "outgrew" this piece of apparatus. A replacement truck is costly but essential for us to get the job done.

Response times are important to us. From the time the pager goes off till the time we arrive on scene is what sets us far apart from the rest. We are able to accomplish this by keeping our membership "Barnegat Based", simply meaning that all of our members live within the town limits of Barnegat. When you allow your membership base to live outside of Barnegat, you are adding several or more minutes to your response time. WE ARE PROUD TO KEEP IT LOCAL !

Our 2008 Fund Drive is underway and we appreciate your generous support. We love getting involved with the community whether it be a parade, community day or fire prevention week. We are here for YOU !

HAVE A SAFE SUMMER !
